A wedding day is a very important day, especially for people who have been dreaming about it for most of their lives. If you’re lucky, you only get married once, and that is why it’s important to make sure that this day is everything you’ve ever dreamed of.
There are a lot of things to think about, and a large array of things to be done in a strict timeframe. You’ve got to sort out the gown and the tux, the bridesmaid dresses, the groomsmen’s tuxes, the colors, the venue, the cake, the food, the ceremony, the vows. It doesn’t seem to end, and if you’re on a tight budget or timeframe, it can be very stressful.
This is why you should seriously contemplate what you want in a wedding venue. Each venue will take care of different aspects of the wedding, so it’s in your best interest to think carefully when making this decision.
Establish Your Vision
First and foremost, sit down with your future spouse and make a list of all the things you want at your wedding. Does it include a dance floor? Does it include a nice space for a live band? Does the venue you’ve always dreamed of have an incredible view, or does it take care of the catering for you? Even more, how many people will be attending? Is there a place on site for the wedding party to get ready? Does it have parking facilities for your wedding buses?
All of these questions and more are questions you need to answer first off so that when you shop around for wedding venues, you’ll know right away what won’t work.
There is no reason you shouldn’t get everything you want for your wedding day. As mentioned before, this is your time to shine. It’s the biggest day of your life and it’s all about you. Once you have made decisions, stick to them.
You probably want a venue that already has the practical things you need like tables, tablecloths, chairs, coverings, dishes and basic centerpieces. Make sure to pick the venue that suits your style. You might even wish that the venue has well trained staff members to serve the food and clean up for you. Whatever you could want, there is a venue that supplies it.
If a venue is almost perfect, but there are just a few things you want tweaked, talk to the staff and ask if there is a way you could do your own thing. A flexible venue is just as important as a venue that offers all of the amenities.
Is It Picture Perfect?
As vain as it may sound, your photographer or videographer need to be able to work well in the space. You don’t want them struggling to find light and spending all their time making adjustments when they should be making magic.
There will be hundreds, if not thousands of pictures taken of this day. You want to make sure your venue compliments the beauty of the ceremony itself. Talk to your photographer when selecting your venue. Listen to their commentary on the space. If they can see it, you’re in good hands.
